Richard Pearlman
Practicing law since 1997, Richard Pearlman focuses on banking and corporate law, including regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and compliance, and corporate law. He has experience in balancing the bank regulatory, securities law, corporate governance, financial, and business aspects of a variety of transactions for clients. Prior to forming Igler|Pearlman, Richard practiced with a regional law firm. Prior to that, he worked with George Igler at a boutique banking and securities law firm. Before beginning work with George, he practiced at a law firm in Tampa, specializing in commercial real estate transactions and land use law. Richard’s clients include public and private community banks and bank holding companies.
Richard’s representative experience includes:
- Providing corporate, securities, and regulatory representation to a publicly-traded bank holding company in immediately consecutive merger transactions.
- Serving as counsel to a bank holding company in a $50 million initial public offering of common stock;
- Preparing and obtaining approval of a series of interrelated applications to the FDIC, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and Florida Office of Financial Regulation for a group of simultaneous transactions resulting in a purchase and assumption of assets and liabilities, an interstate bank merger, and a merger of bank holding companies.
- Representing broker-dealers with respect to public and private offerings of securities.
Richard is an associate member of the Florida Bankers Association and a Class of 2004 graduate of the Florida School of Banking at the University of Florida.
Richard earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida in 1997, and he received his B.B.A. in marketing from The George Washington University in 1994.
